Makenna loves to go as she calls it sliding. We have gone 2 days in a row. Yesterday we were on the news @ KUTV 2. If you go on their web site you can see all of us. I am wearing a red coat and Makenna has her ladybug hat on. There was a sliding accident yesterday and they had to life flight someone out. That is the video we are on.

Christmas Day

We had a great Christmas. Makenna loved her gift. Jeremy and Jacob came over and helped her model her new dress up clothes. It was also Natalies birthday. Makenna had a great time wrapping all of the gift for her family. The only problem was her daddy asked what she was doing and she said, "I wrapping your hat daddy" at least he didn't know what kind of hat he got until he opened it. Jessica also stopped by. She was so excited because she found her dog Budha. He had been missing for a month and a half. She got her Christmas miracle. We hope all of you had a great day.

Christmas Party
David had his work Christmas party last night. It was awesome. We had not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 General Authorities there. I know I get excited about the little things but I just can't help myself. The four were Henry B. Eyring, M. Russell Ballard, Russell M. Nelson, and the presiding Bishop Bishop Burton. President Eyring was wandering around before the party started by we didn't want to bother him and they all were excuse just before the party let out so we didn't get to shake hands or anything. Next year though we know where to sit for maximum exposer. We also were able to hear a performance by John Schmidt. It was wonderful. Makenna stayed the night at Grandma and Grandpa Seegmiller so David and I got a good nights rest on top of everything else. It was an amazing night and the best Christmas party I have ever been to. David sure does find the jobs with great perks.

Temple Square
We took Makenna to see the lights at Temple Square. She has been really fun this Christmas Season and we couldn't wait to see what her reaction would be. We came through the gates and she said "Oh my gosh we have to take a picture." She loved everything about temple square. Every time we go by a church or the temples in our area she points them out. It is fun to see here grow in the gospel.

She's A Stinker
We were in sacrament meeting today and Makenna came up with one of her famous gems. They were passing the bread and it came time for Makenna to take just one. We have taught her to use your right hand and only take ONE. Well today she took one handful. She was next to Grandma and Grandma was explaining you only take one and asked why did you had taken more. Makenna's response was honest and to the point, "I was hungry." I guess she is not ready to fast on Fast Sunday yet. lol

Settling In
Well we have almost been here for a week. We are still trying to settle in. I forgot how much I do not like moving. Everything is in disarray. I love our little apartment though. It is nice to be back in our own bed. I can't wait to get everything in its place. It is fun being in a new place just getting organized is a hassle.

Good Time
It has been awhile since I have been to a bridal shower. My friend Annette McKean is getting married on my birthday. I guess I will always remember her anniversary. Anyways, I met her at State Trailer years ago and she was always running late and wrapping presents up in the office. Her bridal shower was tonight and I was running late so I just put her gift in a box. My mother in-law said don't you think you should put a bow or something on it. I said no this fit her to a T. At the shower she came to my gift and I reminded her of all the times she was running late and wrapping presents on the fly. She pretend like she didn't remember but she did. In addition, when we were playing one of the games she drew my number and I won. I ended up with a gift that had been wrapped on the fly. Appropriate don't you think.

We will be moving next Friday. I will be sending an email out shortly with all the detail. It is a cute apartment around the corner from my in-laws and across the street from the ward house. Who could ask for anything more.

Put Your Hands Up
Many of you know that David works downtown at night. Well last night apparently he robbed a 7-11 and took beer and cigarettes. He was coming home from work and on the scanner he heard that a 7-11 had just been robbed at gun point. The description over the scanner was a white male, light brown hair, between 38 and 45, dark clothes, goatee, heavy set. He thought that sounds like me. He was going down State Street and a cop passed him and took a double take. David thought oh no here we go. The lights came on and the next thing David knew he was getting patted down, cuffed and kneeling on the ground. Another cop showed up with a dog and they searched the KIA. They took David's wallet out and ran his ID and guess what? Started apologizing for the inconvenience. Luckily, David knew what was going down and he had done nothing wrong. Next time he's going to rob the 7-11 at least he could take something good.

Makenna's New Talent
Makenna has learned to slide on her knee on Grandma wood floor. She told me watch this mommy this is cool. I don't know if she learned this on accident or on purpose but, it is sure fun to watch.

Who's in the Bathroom
Funny story. We were in bed last night and David heard someone in the bathroom. So, he got the flashlight to go check out who it was. (My in-laws are out of town so no one should be in there.) It was Makenna. It never even occurred to him that she might be using the bathroom in the middle of the night. She always wakes one of us up to help her. Where was I through all the drama? Fast asleep in bed. Never even heard her. Very unusual for me. I am glad that she is trying to go by herself. I do love my sleep. I am glad that my big strong hero was going to protect us.

Take A Bow
Makenna had her first Primary Program today. She did great. She memorized her line and got up and said it with no problems. What a natural. She also sang I am a Child of God with her class. I couldn't see her though because the music director was standing right in front of her. I could see her lips moving so I know she was singing. Thank you to Grandma Helen, Grandpa Charles, Jeremy and Jessica for coming to see her. A little child shall lead the way and today she did. My heart is fill with joy.

Stopped by and Stayed a While
We had the rare treat of having Uncle Daniel, Aunt Sara and baby Cayson stop by on Thursday. We had a great time hanging out. Cayson is getting so big. He is a charmer. I am in love. Grandma Helen got to come also. We were all excited to see everyone. Thanks for stopping by and please come again soon. ;p

Makenna to the Rescue
I came home from work on Monday and the house was wide open. Now usually the garage is open but the front door was wide open too including the screen door. I thought that this was a bit unusual. When I got inside my mother-in-law explained what was going on. She had turned on the wrong burner and the crock pot was on it. The legs of the crock pot melted. Makenna saw the smoke and started yelling daddy daddy smoke smoke and ran for the door. Where she learned this I am not sure. How grateful I am that no one was hurt. Well the crock pot is resting in peace, but thank goodness nothing that wasn't replaceable was hurt. It is amazing how little ones pick up things without you even realizing it.

Pumpkin Boo
We had such a good time trick or treating. Makenna would go to the door and say "Trick or Treat" nice to see you. Thank you and we'll see you later. It was so cute. She became miss independent though. It was so much fun to watch. Hope all you goblins and witches had a safe Halloween.

Makenna's Honey Bee

Makenna is learning how to ride "her Honey Bee" she is doing great on the pedaling but as for the steering hmmm not so good. Grandpa thought because she kept crashing that putting on her helmet for our four-wheeler (The Honey Bee) might be a good idea. He also got the goggles that David wears. The above pictures say it all.

Lucky Place to Eat
We occasionally go to Golden Corral to eat. Every time we go David likes to try and win Makenna a stuffed animal out of the machine where the claw grabs the animal drops it in the slot and that is what you win. I am sure everyone know what I am talking about. Know won ever wins. Yeah right. Try telling that to Makenna. The past three times we have gone Makenna has come home with a new toy. Her Daddy has the lucky touch. So, she get a free meal and toy every time she goes. Can't beat that. How spoiled is she?

I'm hungry
All of a sudden Makenna is eating like she has a hollow leg. I guess a growth spurt will follow shortly. I asked her today what she would like and she said "Basagna". Grandma just happened to be cooking a Lasagna for dinner. I keep trying to correct her but anyone who know Makenna know how she likes to tease. I wonder where she gets that from. HMMMM.

October
I can hardly believe it is already October. We have been back in Utah for four months. What a whirlwind. We have been very blessed. October is always like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get. Those of you who know us know what I mean. We have had many blessings and trials in the past Octobers but each has made us strong and drawn us closer to our Heavenly Father. We are excited about conference. We get to watch it on TV instead of the Internet. I can't wait. In addition, David has reached a milestone that has been 6 years in the making and I am so proud of him. If you know David you know what I am talking about. If you don't some day maybe I will share what it is. I will have to ask him first. Anyways, life is good. My new jobs is good. Jeremy, Jessica, Natalie, and Makenna are good. David and I are very blessed to have such wonderful childern. We have so much to be grateful for. Thanks to all of you for your support and love. We couldn't do it without each a everyone of you.

I Tuck You In
When I started working a few weeks ago Makenna decided that she would tuck me in at night before I would go to bed. She and David go to bed after me most of the time. She gets my blanket wraps me up and gives me a kiss goodnight. On some nights she lays next to me and holds my hand. I love to share time like that with her. Anyways last night David and I were in bed and she wanted to tuck me in and lay with us. We ususal don't let her because we dont't want to start a bad habit. She needed to go get her pillow and said you wait her don't snore. I snore on occassion and David snores all the time. When she came back in we pretended to snore it was the funniest thing. So also has started this thing when you ask her for a kiss she will say no. You tell her oh I didn't want one anyways and she has to give you one right now. I don't know where she comes up with this stuff but she sure makes life interesting.

New Job
Well today our prayers were answered. I found a job that is part-time working from 8-2. David starts work at 3 or 3:30 so Makenna doesn't have to go into daycare at all. In additions, I have Friday, Saturday and Sunday off so David and I have the same days off. I am so grateful for this opportunty. Hopefully I can last more than 2 weeks this time. I will only be working with the owner and he is there 20% of the time. After training I will be basically by myself. I don't have to dress up because the office is at their home. That mean no new wardrobe. Yeah. I hate clothes shopping. Thanks for all the prayers everyone.

My Loves
Our favorite Sunday activity is sleeping. Makenna loves to lay on her Daddy. This is the first time that I was able to sneak a picture without either of them knowing. It is priceless to me. Just had to share the picture of my Two Loves.

Beaver Fun
We got to spend some time down in Beaver on Sunday. We had a great time. My mom made all my favorites. Roast beast with carrots and potatoes, potato salad like only mom can make and carmel popcorn. It was wonderful. We got to see everyone's new house even though it is not new to them any more. Makenna and Patton love each other. I wish I had half the energy of those two. It was really fun to watch them together. Beaver is a very peaceful town. It kinda made me home sick for Eau Claire. I am glad that Mom and Sandra are so close now and we can have a mini get away whenever we want to.

Getting Off the Roller Coaster
It was a hard decision but, I got off the roller coaster yesterday. I don't think David or my in-law could take much more of it. I know I couldn't. Meadow Golden will become a distance memory and a new job will be in the horizon. I am not looking forward to the hunt again but, I am looking forward to a new job. I really enjoyed the job I had. The Lord has different plans for me now. I can hardly wait to see what the future holds. Wish me luck.

The Roller Coaster
It is hard to believe that I started working 2 weeks ago. The job has been a trial. I haven't had a first day of work since I starting working at State Trailer Supply. That was 8 years ago. Being in an office setting in not easy. I enjoy the work though. The people are alright but it is hard to go back into "the world". Makenna is doing alright. She enjoys playing with her Daddy in the morning and with Gram and Gramp in the afternoon. A nice lady in the ward will start watching her the Monday after next. We will see what that brings. She is a good girl for everyone but me. I think she is coming around though.

Mama I Do It Myself
Makenna has decided that she likes to wear her hair down. The other night we where eating soup for dinner and it kept getting in the soup. Gramdma Seegmiller went and got a clip to pull her hair back. Makenna said "I get the yellow one." We didn't know what that meant. She scurried off and got Grandma's brush and was combing her hair and then put the clip right on top of her head. She said "beautiful Mama" Of course I said beautiful but let me help you and she was insistent that she had that clip on top of her head. Everyone has their own unique style. Sometimes I think she is a teenager in a 3 year old body.

Fun Fridays
We have had a lot of fun the past two Fridays. Last Friday was Sandra's birthday. Her and Brandon decided that they wanted to go to Lagoon for the day and asked if I could watch Patton. Makenna and Patton had the best time ever. We took them to the park and played and got them chicken nuggets to eat. We came home and David went riding and I told the kids that if they took a nap that they could go swimming. I put them in the room and let the giggles begin. They thought that they were being so sly. It was fun to watch them and see what they thought that they were getting away with. Patton stayed the night. He is a very early riser. I don't know how Sandra does it. Any ways we had a great time. Patton will have to stay again soon.
Today we went to dinner and then took Makenna out to the airport to watch the "hairplanes" land. She loved it. She has been obsessed with airplanes and helicopter for a while now. Every time we see one she points it out. She was so excited every time she could see one out in the horizon. After the airport we drove out to Tooele. We drove by our old house. It was a surreal experience. I am glad that we don't live out there anymore. We stopped to get Makenna some ice cream and ran into our old Bishop and his wife. The was an awkward situation. (there is a story there) we were very pleasant though I am grateful that we handle it in a good matter. It did throw a wreck in our evening but we managed to end it with a bang. The local baseball team had as Makenna would say "smoked" after their game. So, we enjoyed a nice fireworks show. It was a great ending to a great day.

Payson No Cayson
Grandma Helen, Uncle Daniel, Aunt Sara, and Cayson came to our house yesterday. Daniel and Sara left this morning back to New York. We had a great time watching the Olympics and playing with everyone. Makenna insisted that the baby's name was Payson not Cayson. We started calling her Pakenna but she didn't really care. It was fun to see her interact with Daniel and Cayson. She likes Aunt Sara too but, she has not always like Uncle Daniel. She was probably the first kid in history to avoid him like the plague. This time she really warmed up to him and they played really well together. She liked Cayson too and was worried about him when he was crying. It was a lot of fun. Daniel and Sara are great parents. Cayson is a lucky boy.

100 Pieces
My Mom and Makenna put this puzzle together once when my Mom came to visited last week. Makenna decided yesterday that she wanted to put it together again. This time she did it all by herself. She is quite the puzzle whiz. Sometimes she truly amazes me with what she can do.

Surrounded by Boys
We got to attend the blessing of Cayson on Sunday. Three of my siblings were there also. Makenna got to be around 4 of her cousins. All boys. Benjamin is 4, Patton is 2, Chris is a year and some change and Cayson is 3 weeks old. She loves her cousins. They had a great time. It was nice being around family. We missed Jami, Annzley and Christian though. Hopefully soon we will all be able to get together.

Grandma Helen's Visit
Grandma Helen got to come and stay with us for a few days. Makenna had a blast. Grandma brought stickers for her to play with and they decided to stick them on Makenna. They also put a puzzle together, played Webkinz, went outside, and played Toy Treasure on the computer. She was sad when she woke up this morning and Grandma was gone and so was I . It was a great time.

I Love to Fish
David's family had their annual camp out trip to Tibble Fork. We were unable to camp with the family, but we went up for some fishin and 4-wheelin. Makenna had never fished before and her Daddy helped her. She caught two fish right of the bat. She kept saying I found them I found them. It was really cute. She had such a good time.

David's Birthday Weekend
We have had a great weekend. This is the first birthday that David has been home in 3 years. We went all out. It started on Friday. Jessica made David's favorite b-day cake, we went with the older children to lunch, then shopping and a visit with some old friends. Saturday we went to dim sum with the older girls who where leaving for California and wouldn't be there for their Dad's b-day. Yummy. My in-laws then watched Makenna so we could have a night to ourselves. We rented a room at the Plaza across the street from Temple Square. They talked us into the "Honeymoon Suite" because we were also celebrating a late 5th anniversary and David's birthday. They gave us a great deal and said there was a nice gift basket to go with it. Watch closely in the montage and try not to be jealous of how nice it really was. We settled in and then went to The Melting Pot for dinner. It was the best. After dinner we went back and enjoyed the view from our room and being kid less for awhile. In the morning we went over to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for our church meetings. We were miss informed about the times so we just enjoyed the atmosphere. We really enjoyed the time we had together and can't wait for our next adventure. I love having David home all the time. It was a great extravaganza weekend.

Aunt Jeweece (Janiece)
Makenna got to have a full spa treatment for free today. Aunt Janiece had a break from her Conference in Park City and popped in. Janiece was doing her nails at the table which is a very common thing because all the older girls do their nails at Grandma's house. Grandma has a basket full of nail care products that she keeps in the sewing room. Anyways to continue the tale Janiece asked Makenna if she want her nails painted and she said YES. Then Makenna actually let Janiece do it. In addition, she let Janiece fix her hair. All of this at no charge to me. A nail treatment, a new do, and an afternoon with Aunt Janiece. Priceless.
